On January 3, Wei Jian’gen, Acting District Mayor of the Fenghua District, made a visit to the Xikou Town for investigation and researches. He pointed out that rural revitalization is the only way to achieve common prosperity. We should adhere to the People First and plan for overall promotion of rural revitalization and common prosperity. Liu Chunping and Zhang Wei participated in the visit.

Wei Jian’gen and his delegation firstly visited the Chinese Torreya Base in the Jinxi Village, learning in detail the development of the Chinese torreya industry, farmers’ increased income and sales channels and so on. Later on, they went to the Sanshi Village to inspect the progress of rural housing renovation. When passing through the flower and tree corridor of the Shadi Village, Wei Jian’gen affirmed the new model and new way of integrated development of agriculture and tourism in the village, and required for focus on strengthening agriculture, beautifying rural areas and enriching farmers, so as to speed up the pace of rural revitalization.

At the subsequent meeting, Wei Jian’gen listened carefully to the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy in the Xikou Town and relevant villages, and acknowledged Xikou’s ideas and achievements in developing characteristic agriculture and promoting common prosperity. He pointed out that rural revitalization and common prosperity complement each other, that it’s necessary to adhere to the concept of green development and make concerted efforts to realize “agriculture to be competitive, farmers rich and rural area beautiful”, and that it’s also a must to not only have industries and employment, but also to improve housing and environment, and take the road of rural revitalization and characteristic development with higher standards and higher quality.

Wei Jian’gen emphasized that Xikou is supposed to face the future, burst out new vitality, create a new image and do a good job in new demonstration. The Party committee and government should attach great importance to the issues relating to “agriculture, rural areas and farmers” with clear ideas, clear objectives and specific measures, and make scientific planning, classified implementation and practical achievements from the reality of each village. It’s needed to clarify the industrial positioning by not only deeply cultivating traditional industries, but also developing emerging industries and brands, expanding markets, extending industrial chains and enhancing added value. It’s also necessary to solve the problem of employment and promote the sunshine action of processing with supplied materials, thus promoting the increase of farmers’ income. We should promote the construction of “Our Home”, consolidate achievements and continue to improve. Land transfer and large-scale and modern agriculture should be accelerated and developed. We should also build a good leadership group to contribute to the realization of common prosperity and rural revitalization in an all-round way.
