Young Students Explore the Cultural Code of the City
In the afternoon of April 16, during the "Meet in Ningbo" City Walk for Free 2025 —Fenghua Line event, over 40 students from the Ningbo City College of Vocational Technology embarked on an urban exploration. They visited cultural landmarks such as the Fenghua Museum and the Fenghua District Cultural Center (Intangible Cultural Heritage Center), immersing themselves in Fenghua's cultural heritage and modern vitality. This "walking youth league class" became a bridge for a "two-way connection" between young students and the city.
At the Fenghua Museum, the students embarked on a journey through time. From the Neolithic "Hemudu Culture" exhibition area to the streetscapes of the Republic of China era, they either admired the displays in silence or engaged in lively discussions. "So Fenghua is the hometown of the Chiang’s family and the birthplace of the Hongbang tailors!" "' Sparse shadows slant across the shallow water clear; and gloomy fragrance floats at dusk in dim moonlight.' I’ve long heard this classic line praising plum blossoms, but I had no idea the poet Lin Bu was from Fenghua!"... Each artifact connected the threads of the city's development, bringing textbook descriptions to life. The students lingered before the exhibits, deeply feeling the artistry and charm. At the Fenghua District Cultural Center (Intangible Cultural Heritage Center), they observed up close national-level intangible cultural heritage items such as the legend of the Cloth Bag Monk, Fenghua cloth dragons, and Hongbang Tailors and so on.
Later on, the students visited the Qingyun Village, a provincial-level historical and cultural village. Amidst the blend of traditional ancient architecture and modern creative spaces, they gained a firsthand understanding of the "code" for rural revitalization.
"In the future, we will continue to serve as a bridge connecting with the youth, closely engaging with young students, delving into local cultural resources, and gathering more youthful energy for Fenghua's urban development," said a relevant official from the Fenghua District Youth League Committee.
