Public Art Exhibition Illuminates Urban Cultural Space

On June 18, the public art exhibition "Harmonious Coexistence of Circles" created by students from the Environmental Design Department of College of Art and Design, Ningbo University of Finance and Economics debuted at the Fenghua Urban Cultural Center.

At the exhibition, dozens of hula hoops underwent a magnificent transformation in the hands of the students. The creative task required students to use "circles" as the basic form and employ composite materials such as fabric, metal, and recycled plastic to construct unique spatial art units within the circular frames. Each piece embodies the creators' ingenuity, displaying distinct individuality when exhibited independently, yet forming a cohesive "artistic canopy" when combined, perfectly illustrating the creative concept of "the coexistence of individual uniqueness and overall harmony". The use of recycled materials in the works conveys an environmental message, while the interplay of material textures and light effects showcases spatial aesthetics.

This exhibition is part of the "Leisurely Life, Leisurely Art" themed series of the Bangji Rambling Art Season. Using hula hoops as creative vehicles, it not only presents the stunning visual effect of an "artistic canopy" but also highlights the innovative achievements of the integration of industry and education in environmental design, infusing urban public spaces with vibrant artistic energy.

The exhibition not only revitalizes public cultural spaces with youthful artistic language but also explores innovative models for colleges and universities to serve local communities through the practice of "art intervening in cities".
