To further expand the reach of public film services and provide higher-quality, more accessible, sustainable, and faster-delivered public film services to the people, since May, our district has actively explored a new model for public welfare film screenings. By selecting the Fenghua Sports Center as the venue, the district innovatively introduced the "movies + sports" format, making public film screenings more down-to-earth and vibrant. As of now, over 300 screenings have been held across the district’s 12 towns (subdistricts), with the annual total expected to exceed 2,600 sessions.

At the outdoor film screenings, the integrated model of culture, sports, and commerce has effectively enhanced the atmosphere and diversity of the public screenings. Professional digital projection equipment, paired with neatly arranged seating, provides a place for passersby to cool off and rest. The Fenghua Sports Center has set up experience facilities for over ten sports activities, including mini runs, pickleball, spin bikes, table tennis, and basketball. With the participation of shops and markets, citizens can enjoy handmade beverages, light meals, and other specialty foods while indulging in this "cultural and sports feast."

"Our whole family joined in. My husband played pickleball with the kids to exercise, while I sat here with my parents watching nostalgic films. The atmosphere is just amazing!" "With the cool breeze and bursts of laughter, it reminds me of the big playground from my childhood. I hope the film selections and updates keep pace with the speed of development in the new era." The diverse activities have garnered praise from the public.

It is reported that the Fenghua Sports Center, as a fixed outdoor film screening location, hosts screenings every Saturday and Sunday from 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (specific times may vary depending on sunlight; screenings are suspended in rain or snow). This event, as a special session of the district’s public welfare film screenings, is one of the measures to optimize the on-demand screening mechanism and explore new supply models. It also represents an active exploration of innovative approaches to public film screenings. Moving forward, our district will continue to integrate elements of culture, sports, and commerce, innovate screening formats, and leverage venue characteristics to create a new benchmark for public film screenings. While meeting the diverse needs of the public and enhancing the appeal of public films, our district will further strengthen the inherent social benefits of public welfare initiatives.
